Lesson Plans 4-5
Introduction
|
|
It is safe to say that much information in social studies is obtained by being able to read maps and globes.
When we seek answers to questions that involve spatial relationships, such as "Where is it?", "How far is it", or "In what direction is it", maps and globes are about the only source available.
To be able to read maps and globes requires the development of a unique set of skills.
This section is designed to develop geographic skills, use a globe, an United States Map, and a World Map. Part 1 develops globe skills using the Cram Horizon Ring Activity Mounting. Part 2 develops map skills using the United States Map. Part 3 develops map skills using the World Map. The on-line lessons may be printed and used as student activity sheets.
